White crystalline solid, easily soluble in water, ethanol, and acetone. At a melting point of 287 ℃, sulfides, nitrides, and cyanides decompose. Reacts with acids and strong oxidants. White orthorhombic crystal or powder, with a relative density of 1.735 g/cm3, neutral in aqueous solution.
